means for the sake of accurate interpretations of discourses, be they oral or written, and there are specific criteria/rules on which any rhetorical analysis relies upon.

The present research, accordingly, addresses the problematic of disjunctive and disjointed textual divergence within the Arabic rhetorical field as well as its common problematic occurrence within the field of modern literary criticism.

The research also delves on the controversial definitions and acknowledgements of such divergence that could be interpreted, for some critics and scholars, in the fluctuation of different linguistic styles or a mild verbal alteration and the existence of such disjunctive techniques would, nevertheless, not alter the core meaning of the discourse.
