The western basin of the Mediterranean has witnessed important and dangerous events since the earliest times, which have left their mark on the course of events.

Perhaps the most important of which is the Spanish-Algerian conflict, which has carved out three centuries of history in the region and left big effects on the world’s scene in general and on the disputing parties in particular.

It was not by the end of the conflict in 1206 AH / 1792 AD, the date of the final liberation of the city of Oran, but extended, in one way or another, to affect the course of events in contemporary history.

When looking at the sources that dealt with the topic and digging deeper into their explanations, we guess that some of these sources written with excessive bias according to the belief or issue the researcher believes in and defends them, and in order to explain their incidents, we need to pause to consider them, and re-read them again in order to achieve the authenticity of the research.

Through this article we will try to stop at some of the domestic and foreign writings, articulating the different visions that formed the main pillar and the overall objective of this study, as well as trying to control the concept and history of conflict between the parties and its religious reasons in particular, in a problem centered on the role of historical sources and literature in writing history , and the credibility of relying on the real perception of historical events in view of the real facts, based on an approach to the historical comparative approach appropriate for this study more than other premises and approaches.
