The purpose of this research is to investigate the effectiveness of PDEODE strategy in teaching mathematics on developing mathematical confidence and divergent thinking among first grade preparatory pupils.

Research group consisted of two groups one experimental and one control.

The research tools have been pre administrated (confidence mathematical scale and divergent thinking test), then taught the unit for the experimental group according to PDEODE strategy while teaching the control group according to traditional methods.

Finally, the research tools have been post administrated.

Result of the research revealed a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the control group and experimental group pupils in the pre and post application of the mathematical confidence scale and divergent thinking test in favor of the experimental group.

Also, there is a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the experimental group pupils the pre and post application of the mathematical confidence scale and divergent thinking test in favor of in favor of post application.

And there is no correlation function between the exprimental group pupils's grades on the scale of mathematical confidence their and scores on the divergent thinking test in post application The research presented a number of recommendations such as: Interest in the development of mathematics curriculum and reorganize their content in line with PDEODE strategy, and training of mathematics teachers on using modern teaching methods to develop mathematical confidence and divergent thinking.
