Abstract EN

This research discusses the main routes of trading caravans in the Kingdom of Qataban by tracking their routes, identifying and describing their Manqls (paved mountainous pass) which were constructed in the rugged mountains and hills of the highlands that were followed by those roads which linked Shabwa city the capital of Hadramout in the east and the Sabaenean land in the West, as will as to the southern coastal plains and its important ports such as the port of Aden.

The aim is to link Baihan Valley with those areas and to transfer the Kingdom trade to and from southern ports and new areas that Qataban had controlled under it's rule during their economical prosperity and military superiority since the 6th century to the end of the 4th century BC.
