Abstract EN

The purpose of this study is to find out the motives of the female students of Arabic Linguistics Institute in learning the Arabic language.

identify the impact of these motives in the learning process and the extent to which the Institute has met their goals and needs.

This study was performed on all female students of the Institute of Arabic Linguistics at King Saud University for all levels totaling 30 female students .Due to the nature and objectives of this research.

the researcher applied the descriptive method.

she also used a questionnaire and interviews as tools to collect the required data to answer the questions of the study.

The results of the study showed that religious motives were more effective in learning Arabic with a high degree.

as they ranked first in terms of the power of their influence in learning the Arabic language.

and that the integrating motives are the least effective in learning the Arabic language with a low degree.

The study also indicates that the textbooks are not appropriate in terms of topics.

as they need to be developed to become more suited to the needs of learners and to keep up with the requirements of this age .

In the light of these findings.

the researcher presented a number of recommendations.

the most notably are: the need to pay attention to the motives of Arabic language non native-speakers learners.

and to take them into account in the preparation of educational materials by the designers of curricula and textbooks in order to achieve a balance between the goals of learners and the goals of the curriculum; and the interest of the motives of non-Muslims to learn Arabic language and with the appropriate preparation of courses.
