Investigating the role of educational leadership practices in promoting quality assurance in higher education

Abstract EN

Educational leadership has become an important factor in the development of education and its policies.

It is believed that it has been playing a vital role in enhancing quality assurance in higher education.

This paper aims at investigating the importance of quality assurance for higher education.

It also aims at defining the role of educational leadership in implementing quality in higher education institutions.

Drawing on findings from a study conducted at the English department of the faculty of Arts and Human Sciences, University of Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah in Fez, Morocco; the Respondents of this study are selected non-randomly (purposive sampling); they are asked to fill in a questionnaire about the role of leadership in fostering quality in higher education in order to provide us with pertinent information.

The results of this study show the way in which almost all the respondents believe that effective leadership attributes in assuring the quality of higher education and that the implementation of educational leadership practices in higher education helps improving the quality of educational institutions.
