Abstract EN

The study aimed to use the CAMEL system to evaluate the performance of banks and give a clear picture of the performance of the Bank of Baghdad and detect the defect early, as well as to show the positive side in the performance of the bank and try to strengthen it, and to identify weaknesses and try to overcome them and access to a sound banking sector that preserves the rights of depositors and investors.

The analytical method was used through the financial indicators of the CAMEL system and for the period (2014-2018), the study concluded that the assumptions were accepted and that all the indicators of the CAMEL system came out positively, which is behind the good management of the bank and making decisions correctly in all its work, while the study recommended to work To increase profitability by optimizing the use of deposits as well as utilizing excess liquidity in the bank and investing in new projects.
