Gypsy women and intersection of inequalities : anthropological analysis based on an "integration program" for gypsy women in Salamanca

Abstract EN

This article is an attempt to bring closer those who read to the reality of the gypsy women of Salamanca, because if we bet on the construction of a fairer and more egalitarian world, it will only be possible if we know who we live in.

Ethnography has allowed the observant participation (Guber, 2001) of those who write in various spaces where the lives of these women take place, mainly in the "Sara Romí Socio-Labor Promotion and Integration Program" offered by the Fundación Secretariado Gitano (FSG, in forward), in which I was a volunteer3 for six months.

I also had conversations (in the cases that were considered pertinent, by way of a semi-structured interview) with Roma and Clowns (non-Roma), and I carried out 63 questionnaires open to inhabitants of this city.
