Poetry is considered as one of the important subjects of human thought in the field of literary and critical studies: it has been studied, analyzed and translated since poetry examines the laws that govern literary discourse and distinguish it from others.

Through this intervention, I try to show the ancient Greek origins of the poetic term, and its characteristics among Muslim sages.
