The study aims, through our descriptive survey research, to reveal the relationship that exists between the approach to competencies and academic performance through a field study of third year pupils of middle education in Mostaghanem, so we assumed that there is a correlative relationship between teaching with the approach to competencies and academic performance in this simple, and for this purpose we used the descriptive research method Our study was conducted on a simple from the community of Mostaganem State for third year pupils of middle education consisting of 420 male and female students from Achaacha district and from different geographical areas (urban, semi-urban, rural).

A simple random sample was chosen, and to collect data we used the results of academic performance from Department councils records for the third year average for the first trimester in the school year: 2020/2021.

After collecting the results and treating them statistically, where the results were as follows: There is no correlation between the approach with competencies and academic performance.

As for the sub-hypotheses, the results were different.
