The Arab League has suffered a remarkable delay in the area of human rights.

This is due to the difference between their countries in terms of systems of government and orientations, as well as their forms between traditional monarchies and revolutionary republics, and the difference between their peoples in economic, social and cultural fields.

Growing global interest in human rights issues has imposed some attention on Arab governments.

However, the drafting of Arab charters has not given Arab human rights and freedoms the necessary protection, and its countries continue to invoke cultural specificity in the face of human rights conventions and protocols and sometimes invoke the reasons of urgency and security to confiscate the rights and freedoms granted by their constitutions.
