ical mechanisms have been determined acc-ording to the system¬atic perception as well as the procedur¬al practice upon whi¬ch linguistic theori¬es are based and wh¬ich fall into two ma¬jor categories.

The first category is marked by and hypothetical attr¬ibutes which were re¬vealed by systemic statements as a resu¬lt of structural con¬ceptions and models of generative lingu¬istic analysis, The second category, on the other hand, ta¬ckles the pragmatica¬lly side of languag¬e.

Based on this cog¬nitive and methodolo¬gical correlation between the linguist¬ic perception and the phonological theo¬ry, the phonological position of the pro¬sodic phonemes is determined Since the phonological procedu¬re is limited in its function within the complementary con¬fines that the phon¬eme brings to the su¬rface as being the smallest unit that ca¬nnot be extended, prosodic studies in phonology have sw¬itched their interest towards enhancing the functional posi¬tion of prosodic pho¬nemes within its fun¬ctional procedure, by ignoring the leg¬itimacy of the phono¬logical approach and relying on the pho¬nological representa¬tions that can be ex¬tended in reality
