Current research aims to identify: 1.

Identify the role of faculty members in the Department of History in the development of the values of global citizenship from the perspective of students.

2.

Identify the differences in the role of faculty members in the Department of History in the development of global citizenship values by variable (gender).

The current research is determined by students of the Department of History in the faculties of education of the middle Euphrates universities for both sexes (males - females) for the four stages (first-second-third-fourth), from the first morning study, for the academic year (2018-2019).

To achieve the research objectives, the researcher relied on the following: 1.

The use of (descriptive analytical curriculum) in the search for the role of the teaching department of history in the faculties of education of the development of values of global citizenship from the perspective of students.

Constructing a measure of the global citizenship, based on the available theoretical framework, and the measure in its final, after completing the conditions of validity, reliability and item discrimination, of (50) paragraphs, They were divided into four areas: (Peaceful Coexistence - World Peace - Dialogue - Tolerance), In addition, the researcher applied the two measures to a sample of (224) male and female students from the Department of History at the University of Karbala, The data were analyzed by using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS).

The results were as follows: 1.

The teaching of the history department at the faculties of education for humanities had little role in developing the values of global citizenship for their students.The results also showed that there were statistically significant differences in the responses of the respondents on the tool (intellectual security) according to the variable of gender (males - females) and in favor of males.

Based on these findings, the researcher presented a number of conclusions, recommendations and suggestions.
