In this study, the effect of axisymmetric compression of cylindrical blocksof copper on diameter ratio, height reduction ratio and aspect ratio wasnoted.

The effects of these non-dimensional parameters are verysignificant to the geometry of barreling throughout the process of plasticdeformation of a cylinder under axial compression.

The barreling effectwas studied for solid and hollow copper cylindrical blocks having differentdimensions.

The relationship between the parameters was also studied.

The practical results obtained were compared with some of the existingtheories, and there was a good correlation of the results with thesetheories.
