This study is an attempt to shed light on the concept of quality, and then exposure to the criteria of quality assurance and accreditation for the programs of postgraduate studies and scientific research in higher education institutions, and the goals and benefits of obtaining accreditation in two parts: institutional and programmatic, and in this context has been exposed to some of the concepts used in the field of ensuring Quality and accreditation, such as recognition, authorization, licensing, and other terms used in this context.

I hope this will be useful and add something useful to the Iraqi library and serve higher education institutions in Iraq.
