Abstract EN

In the 19th century, Morocco was subjected to numerous colonial pressures to eliminate its political and economic independence.

Despite attempts and objections to prevent that, but the military confrontations with France and Spain eventually led Morocco to be under-protection.

In 1906, the Green Island Conference was held, which allowed France and Spain to protect Morocco while retaining some sovereignty.

Thus, after the World War II, the Moroccan resistance of political parties refusing to defend began to demand independence by submitting a petition for freedom, especially after the issuance of the Atlantic Charter, which gave peoples the right to self-determination.

After that, Morocco gained independence in 1956.
