This research paper aims to shed light on the reality of monetary policy used in Algeria and its implications for economic growth during the period 1990-2018, and for this purpose we have attempted an analytical study.

We have concluded by The lack consistency between the change in monetary mass and GDP, and this was confirmed by the local inflationary rates, we also noted that the liquidity rate for most of the study years has exceeded 50% and this reflects excessive issuance Cash and indicates that the real production does not keep pace with cash production, and the low speed of money circulation despite high liquidity rates means the spread of the phenomenon of hoarding in the Algerian society, which confirms that the Algerians do not deposit their money at the monetary institutions.
