: Kidnapping is a serious crime affecting the freedom and dignity of the child, and which often causes him severe physical and moral damage, which may amount to his death, this crime has witnessed a remarkable development in terms of the motives and methods of committing it, as it may have been motivated personally, financially or sexually… The Algerian legislator realized the seriousness of this crime, and sought to extend the greatest possible protection for the child, through the enactment of several legal texts that aim to ensure special protection for the child from the crime of kidnapping.

These texts are distributed between the penal code and law 15-12 related to the protection of the child.
