Abstract EN

This article shed light on the importance and the position of the Waqf in the Tunisian country during the eighteenth century and how the Husainians contributed to spreading them.

we try to highlight the most important of these estates that the authority formed and their purposes and who benefited from them, as well as showing the importance of these estates for the society in which they represent one of the most important forms of social solidarity.

since these Waqf were linked to the realty, then we tried to shed light on the real estate ownerships at the same period and the ways the authority used in order to take control of the real estates and how to transform them into public Waqf and into private entailed estates, and this is for controlling citizens and families whether in the Tunisian cities or the country sides and how the competition on the lands appeared inside the Tunisian country especially after the settlement of the political situations in the second half of the eighteenth century.
