يعد العناد عند الطفل مظهرا من مظاهر النمو السوي إذا ظهر بين سن السنتين و ست سنوات بسبب سعي الطفل إلى توكيد ذاته و بناء شخصيته المستقلة عن الآخرين و المطلوب من الآباء هو إجادة التعاطي معه حتى لا يتحول إلى مشكلة من خلال إشعار الطفل بالحب الاستماع إلى انشغالاته و استخدام اللغة الهادئة و المنطق عند التعامل معه مع مراعاة خصائص نموه.
أما إذا استمر بعد ذلك فيعد مشكلة و في هذه الحالة يكون التدليل الحماية الزائدة القسوة الإهمال و الإجبار وراءه بالإضافة إلى وجود نموذج يقتدي به الطفل و كذلك كثرة طلبات الآباء و تعارضها مع رغبات الطفل.
يتخذ العناد لدى الطفل أشكالا عدة منها : الرفض التجاهل المماطلة الإصرار على أمر ما أو القيام بعكس ما هو مطلوب.
و بما أننا في عصر المعلومات فإن الآباء أصبحوا أكثر معرفة و وعيا به كسلوك طبيعي و كمشكلة لتوفر المعلومات و سهولة الاطلاع عليها لكن هذا لا يغني عن الحاجة إلى أخصائي نفسي لاختلاف سبب / أسباب العناد من طفل لآخر ولا عن الحاجة إلى دورات تدريبية مختصة لعجز بعض الآباء عن تحويل معارفهم إلى ممارسات.
Abstract EN
stubbornness is normal behavior before the age of two years until the age of six; child uses it in this age as a means to show his independence and to assert his self.
It becomes problem after the age of six.
In the two cases, the stubbornness takes the form of refusal or delay or insistence on something.
The over protection, negligence, severity and indulgence are the major causes of stubbornness as problem besides the bad modeling, the multiplicity of demands, the use of compulsion and the contradiction between the demands of parents and the desires of child.
In our age the information about the stubbornness become available, and this makes the parents more aware of it as normal behavior and as problem but this never reduces the need to psychologist or to training sessions for many causes.
