Poétique du témoignage dans "Un secret" de Philippe Grimbert

Abstract EN

This research aims at studying the poetics of witnessing in “Un secret” of Philippe Grimbert.

highlighting two sides: The psychoanalytical side and the character of the witness in the autobiographical novel.

The part of the psychoanalysis was based on the methods of Freud, Lacan, Starobinski and in the part of the character of the witness, we relied on studying the writings of Annette Wiviorka, François Rastier, Primo Levi, Jorge Semprun and others.

The most important results were concluded that Philippe Grimbert had managed to convey the secret of his family by writing this autobiographical novel, where the fictional character Louise played the role of the witness through her human qualities.

This novel represents an honor, even if it is symbolic to Simon, the half brother of Francois.

It also represents a liberation to François, who was capable through accomplishing his duty toward his family, to revolt against the imposed silence and the feeling of guiltiness which had cast its shadow on his life.

This work represents a literary testimony on the model of the great texts of Robert Antelme and Primo Levi.
