Abstract EN

This study deals with the rulings on offering the funeral prayer of a person dying of a pandemic, with special reference to COVID-19 as an example, and how to apply such rulings to those dying of other infectious diseases.

This issue has become prevalent following the emergence of the Corona pandemic and its rapid and easy spread among whoever gets in touch with an infected person unless precautionary measures are taken.

The transmission of infection remains even after the death of the patient.

Hence, the process of washing, shrouding, and burial of the bodies should be carried out in a certain manner.

Besides, the performance of the prayer by those who cannot attend the funeral for fear of infection is also taken into account, knowing that precautionary measures should also be considered towards preventing social gatherings.

The present study is divided into an introduction and two chapters, with the introduction covering a definition of pandemics, including COVID-19, the reason behind its emergence and spread.

The first chapter contains a definition of the funeral prayer, its legal ruling, and the way of performing it.

The second chapter then addresses the legal ruling on washing and shrouding the bodies of the dead due to COVID-19, and the way of performing the funeral prayer for them.

It also discusses whether the person dying of Corona can be considered as ent person for whom an entee funeral prayer can be offered.

Then, the study concludes with the key findings, followed by the works cited.
