Abstract EN

The study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a career counseling program to development career awareness and making career decision skill among sixth grade in the directorate of education rusafa first province Baghdad.

the sample of the study consisted of 64 female and male students and was divided into two group: the experimental group consisted of 32 male and female students and the control group consisted of 32 female and male student.

the esxperimental group undertoo; acareer counseling program while the control group was given normal activities in career counseling.

This study adobted a experimental method.

The result of (t-test)showed that there were statistically significant differences between the average responses of students in the excperimental group and the controls on the level career awareness and career dicision-making skill on the career awareness scale for the experimental group The result also indicate that there are no statistically significant differences among the experimental group due to the gender variable.

This means that the program is suitable for males and females.

The results of the sesearch showed that the impact of the program has continued beyond the post-implementation period of one month of its application, which means that the program was effective and left an impact on the attitudes of students.

in the light of these result, anumber of recommendation and suggestion were presented, including the use of the vocational extension program in school.
