Abstract EN

Algeria had a difficult economic situation because of the adoption of central planning policies as well as political and constitutional crises.

In order to get out of these crises, urgent political and economic reforms were needed to re-establish development and correct the course of the political system.

Algeria needed financial assistance from the international financial institutions, which was the destination of the Bretton Woods institutions, and the signing of several agreements with IMF, World Bank aimed at correcting the imbalances suffered by the economy.

Algeria has obtained loans for the revival of its economy, and has undertaken several economic and political reforms under the direction of the Bretton Woods institutions and under a road map prepared in advance in the laboratories of the IMF and the international agenda.

Algeria has followed a package of programs and policies.
