Abstract EN

This paper investigates linking as one of the phonological process in English.

Linking can be defined as a process of blending two words into one in connected speech.

The aim of this paper is to identify the phonological phenomenon of linking in Iraqi Arabic Dialect (henceforth IAD).

A data analysis is presented to show the validity of this phenomenon in the dialect under investigation.

The results are presented to compare and show the similarities and differences between IAD to both Modern Standard Arabic (henceforth MSA) and English in using linking in connected speech.
