Abstract EN
In order for the special missions to perform their duties to the fullest extent, the 1969 Special Missions Convention granted them a number of immunities and privileges similar to those granted to the envoys of the permanent missions, which we will explain in detail in the folds of this message.
These rights are regulated by the convention for members of special missions And it was stated in the preamble to the agreement that the purpose of these privileges and immunities related to special missions is not to benefit individuals, but to ensure the effective performance of the functions of special missions as missions representing the state.
, These immunities and privileges of the envoys of countries in special missions have stabilized in international custom And international dealing, especially after it has been codified in the form of binding legal texts in the Special Missions Agreement.
The agreement stated that the rules of customary international law continue to regulate matters not regulated by the provisions of this agreement, including those related to the privileges and immunities of state envoys.
The special missions enjoy a number of immunities, privileges and rights that were granted to them under the special missions agreement.
For the purpose of performing its function completely freely and fully, as the agreement stipulated that the headquarters of the special mission enjoy a number of immunities and material and moral privileges, as well as that members of the special missions enjoy a number of immunities and privileges.
Immunities and privileges were granted to the special envoy for the purpose of being able to complete his work in complete independence and freedom without any interference from The receiving country, so the members of these missions enjoy judicial immunity, residence immunity, the immunity of postal correspondence and private messages, as well as the agreement granted them a number of privileges that facilitate the performance of their duties.
The agreement also arranged for international legal responsibility on the receiving state of the mission in case it violates these immunities and privileges enjoyed by members of its special missions.
