The political and economic effects of corona pandemic on the national state : Kuwait as a model

Abstract EN

This study aimed to investigate the political and economic effects of the Corona pandemic on the national state of Kuwait as a model.

These effects have resulted from the pandemic of the new Coronavirus that has universally spread and directlyaffected Arab countries, like Kuwait, on both political and economic levels.By using the descriptive analytical approach, the study concluded that there is negative impact on the political level, represented by weak political participation and the state’s lack of readiness to deal with this pandemic from the very beginning, which affected its communal political position.It also affected economy due to the disruption of the economic process as well as its need for liquidity which in its turn increased the government debt as a percentage of the gross domestic product.

Among the recommendations the study introduces are;ceasing the spread of the Coronavirus among individuals of society,reinforcingthe Kuwaiti political and economic system,and considering the necessary procedures and policies to confront this pandemic.
