History is among the richest sources literary arts have drawn on.

History preserve a huge heritage of events, characters, situations and stories.

The theatre is among these arts which relied heavily on history.

The Arabic theatre is no exceptions.

The Arabic playwrights found in history a huge area through which they can travel in space and time trying to employ its rich events and experience in their innovative projects of writing.

These letter texts worked on history not as past events but also tried to penetrated into the mistries and problems of present.

These study tackles three texts by Imad Al-Deen Khaleel the Mosuli writer, author and intellectual, which represent attempts to employ the historical event.

Each of these texts represented a significant event in Islamic history and a turning point in its historical and cultural movement.

The first came under the heading (The Mongols), the second (The big Grief) and the third ( The Investigation).

This study sheds light on the writer's experience with the historical and his approach in employing the historical event and character.
