Abstract EN

This study identifies and reviews the main features of Algerian decentralized cooperation approach, and determines its position in regional and international approaches.

This work is based on the Algerian legal and regulatory framework, political discourse, international practices and academic literature.

The results of this study showed that the Algerian approach reflects the latest developments in this form of cooperation, but with some shortcomings and ambiguities, which make it a non-exhaustive approach that needs further clarifications and amendments in order to provide the Algerian territorial authorities with the appropriate legal and regulatory tools to increase their involvement, and maximize their benefits from decentralised cooperation initiatives.
