Abstract EN

The takaful practice in Algeria is different from the one applied in other Muslim countries.

In fact, Algeria still does not have a Shariah complaint framework.

The study adds remarkable value to the current literature by exploring Islamic insurance in this country, which lacks available data and information on takaful.

In addition, the recommendations provided should also be used as a road map to stakeholders in takaful industry, given the fact that the Algerian policymakers are being called upon to succeed their centrally important role of implementation a takaful legal framework.
