Abstract EN

This paper aims to study the role of the economic government subsidies in economic diversification in Algeria, by listing the main subsidies mechanisms used by the government, counting the costs induced by it, and the achieved results.

The study concluded that the results of diversifying the economy by the government economic subsidies are limited, with its increasing financial burden on the State budget, and the appearance of contradictories results which hinder the process of diversification.

In this regard, the authorities should change the followed policies and take other measures and mechanisms more efficient to achieve the economic diversification
