Abstract EN

The following historical study proposes to clarify the central and fundamental roles of the free schools affiliated to the Algerian reformist movement (Algerian Muslim Scholars Association) since its foundation in 1931, particularly in the areas of reform (educational and instructive) in one of the central interior regions of the country.

This research paper will attempt to elucidate and to expose one of these free and reformative schools and their elementary roles in the region of El Hodna generally and in M'sila particularly.

In addition to this, our study attempts to praise the efforts made by the teachers of these schools and their frameworks to spread science and knowledge among the Algerian population generally and the habitants of M'sila particularly, in defiance of the colonial policy based on spreading ignorance and illiteracy to eradicate the Arab-Islamic identity of the Algerians.

And so it was the Raja school in M'sila the focus of this study.
