Abstract EN

This study is considered to be one of the descriptive studies that depend on describing the topic of the study and studying the current facts about employing the digital media in serving the cultural programs at the local Omani radio station and the mutual relationship between them using observation and analyzing the content: via selecting a number of cultural programs broadcasted on Omani radio on December 2019 as a case study and analyzing the relationship between the digital broadcasting and the analogue broadcasting.

The researcher found out that most of the programs that were included in this study were recorded programs and as such they lack one of the most important features of digital broadcasting which is direct interactivity during the broadcast.

In addition, the Omani radio is found in most digital platforms with one account in each platform, and there is a weakness in benefiting from the digital platforms in serving the cultural programs and enhancing their presence among audience.

The researcher also found out that the hashtag (#) wasn’t employed in too many programs and there was no unified hashtag with the name of the radio station which can help make accessing its programs easier.

Moreover, there were more than one hashtag to the same program, and digital platforms weren’t made useful in serving the radio editing and presentation.
