Abstract EN

This study aims to highlight the reality of the university in Algeria and the degree of its contribution to the production of scientific knowledge, which is one of its vital functions.

to this end, we have tried to show that the successive reforms aimed at building an efficient university have not provided the right elements to achieve the objectives.

this is due to the persistence of factors which have repeatedly reproduced the same unfavorable conditions within higher education institutions.

Thus, this study uncovered the most important of these factors and their impact on the role of the University in the productivity of scientific research.
