The metaphor was employed in different positions in the noble Quran and Arabic poetry.

this empoymentattracted the scholars of that time to studyit in terms of definitionand functions.

however, most of their studies were basedon the linguisticside of its function which seeks to conveya specific meaninguntil Likove and Johnson came to present a new theory .according to them, the function of the metaphoris not only linguistic, but it is rathera means of thinking and mental perception thatal l people possess ,eloquent are or general.

there fore, this research came to highlight the difference which occurred in the nature of the metaphor by talking about it in rhetoric and epistemological linguistics and displaying the most important of what the later brought.
