Abstract EN

Laws reflect a county’s state or social situation in a given moment in its history.It is in this way that, the algerian legislator has modified the nationality law which was promulgated by virtue of the order number 70/86 on december 15th 1970 bu virtue of the order number 05/01 of february 27 th 2005 .

On one hand to adapt it to Algeria’s demographic growth , and its economic , social and political opening up.

On the other hand, to satisfy the feminist movements’claims accordingly to the international conventions ratified bu Algeria, in particular those related to nationality.

For above stated reasons the Algerian legislator has established by the means of the nationality law modification, the principle of equality between man nd woman in terms of transmission of the original and acquired nationality to the children, which was before that devoted to the father.
