One ofthe enjoyable Qurenic storiesforthe wisdom it exposesisthe story ofthe “People of the Cave”.

It is one of the interesting story which exposes a dispute over the number of people who were in the cave.

This dispute is mentioned in the Glorious Quran (Say [o Muhammad] May Lord is most knowing of their number.

None knowsthem except a few).

This has made the researcher look their number in the light of the rules of Arabic grammar and the denotation pronouns within thisstory.

Pronouns are related to number asthere are pronouns which referto the singular: masculine orfeminine, dual: masculine and feminine and plural: masculine and feminine.

We tried via the relationship of pronouns denotation to figure out the number of the people of the cave.
