Abstract EN

The aim of this research was to identify the family solidarity level for rural family in Sahel Al-Tina area, to identify the relationship between the family solidarity level and the respondents and their families characteristics, and identifying the most important problems that face them and their suggestions to overcome.

The random sample involved 269 household heads, representing 30.7% of the total number of families (875 families).

Data were collected using a questionnaire by personal interview from Village 7.

In addition, descriptive methods, correlation coefficients, and ascending multiple regression used as statistical techniques.

The results indicated that the more than half of respondents (53.2%) had a medium level of family solidarity.

Moreover, the results showed a significant correlation between the family solidarity level and the following characteristicsد number of years of the respondent education, number of household members, age difference between respondent and his wife, respondent’s occupation, housing condition, monthly income of the respondent, the family's ability to face crisis, and the family's fulfillment of its functional roles.

Furthermore, the most important variables that contributed to explaining the total variance in the family solidarity level are: number of years of the respondent education (8.5%), the family's fulfillment of its functional roles (6.8%), and the family's ability to face crisis (5.0%).
