Abstract EN

This research aims to explore the mental image of Qassim University students towards academic study of the Deaf.

The researcher identified the nature of this mental image for those students, and to ascertained whether or not this image differs according to variables of gender, level of study, and type of college where a student belongs to.

Descriptive approach was used in this study, which is based on collecting and describing the opinions of Qassim University students towards Deaf academic study.

A questionnaire was used in this research, it contained 21 items that are divided on academic topics such as curriculum, tasks and assignments, interaction with the lecturer, reading and writing skills, and language.

891 students participated in this research from different colleges of Qassim University.

The participants were limited to bachelor stage.

The results demonstrated statistical differences for female students.

Also, the data showed statistical differences for those who study in the first year.

The research suggests to invest this positive image amongst Qassim University.

It demands for legislations that serve the Deaf and contribute in social and academic inclusion.

This research suggests that these procedures would change negative image and academic delay in Deaf study.
