Given the specificity of family issues, the Algerian legislator sought to protect the rights of individuals in litigation by introducing rules of procedure relating to family matters in the Code of Civil and Administrative Procedure in Articles423to499oftheCode.

In these articles, the legislator focuses mainly on the procedures relating to the dissolution of the conjugal relationship, its importance and its great dispute, where it strives to find preventive and corrective measures in order not to deteriorate, the more important is to make the necessary reconciliation in all typesofdivorce.

On the basis of the above, the purpose of this intervention is to know the role of the judge in protecting and maintaining the couple's legal status through the reconciliation session, and the effectiveness of reconciliation as a fundamental measure to protect the family from disintegration and cracks, and more importantly, what are the obstacles and difficulties that hinder the process of reconciliation and limit its effectiveness
