Abstract EN

This study aims to determine the adequacy of foreign exchange reserves in Algeria after the sharp collapse of oil prices, by relying on a set of general economic indicators that can be used as a guide.

The study basically found that the sharp and sudden decline in oil prices since mid-2014 had a great impact on the size of foreign exchange reserves, as they declined frighteningly in the past few years, despite the fact that the size of foreign reserves was adequate or optimized (adequacy).

The state maintains it remains positive based on these indicators.
