Abstract EN

This Study (Evaluating of Potential Geomorphic Phenomena to Adventure Tourism in Garmian Area) is a study of Geotourism, which dealt with the presentation of the most important complex and attractive geomorphic phenomena of adventure tourism in Garmian area.

The Garmian area is located in the south-eastern part of the Iraqi Kurdistan region.

Geographically It includes larger area than the Garmian Administration.

The study area is located within the Mountainous and Semi-mountainous area which is interconnected with the Plains area with Semi-arid climate.

High mountains like (A part of Sara and Qaradagh mountain ranges) located in Northern part of the study area between Garmian and Kuestan area.

This research aims to identifying and evaluating the geomorphic potential of the adventure tourism in the Garmian, as another trend of tourism in the area, which is in develop and population pay attention on it especially young people, also to open road toward this type of research.

In order to achieve the objective of the study, it was based on two main axes: (Physical properties of the study area, spatial variation of the geomorphic phenomena for the adventurous tourism in the study area).

The research concluded that a lot of complex and attractive geomorphic phenomena for adventure tourism are available in the area, However, shortage of natural and human potential for tourism in the area has led to the emergence of this type of tourism, and this is accompanied by a lack of awareness about this type of tourism, and not taking the desired reasons.
