The research attempts to explore the poetic features of very short story by analyzing a number of its characteristics and techniques with clear poetic features such as the poetic composition of the title as it gives the first impression to readers and critics, and the subtitles as an important part of the short story and an indispensable section which is strongly connected with the narrative text.

The research also analyses poetic condensation by studying title and the different types of elision and the pronouns condensation, poetic paradox, poetic image, and poetic sentence studying the collection "Pretending to be Silent" by the story-teller Yahya Al-Alakmi as an aesthetic field for application.
