The aim of the study was to disclose the nature and features of the social change that affected Al-Bedoul tribe in the Petra District in southern Jordan since they were deported from their original homeland in the Petra archaeological area in 1985 ; They were resettled in Umm Sayhoun, which was established for this purpose, and this came in the context of the Jordanian government's response to UNESCO's instructions to empty the archaeological site of the population after Petra was included in the World Heritage List, and the study used the descriptive and historical method, as well as the major theories that deal with social change issues such as functional and Marxism.

In-depth interview and observation tools were used in conjunction with government and international reports and documents, and the results of the study found that the study community has undergone profound shifts in public social construction due to deportations and resettlement, and permanent engagement with the tourism process
