This study aims to monitor the impact of communication media on the pattern of social relations among university youth, where we identified smartphones as a model among multiple communication technologies, due to its wide use among young people, and because of its features of multiple services and applications, made the individual in constant contact with others everywhere and at any time, thus occupying a prominent position and occupying a large space among young Algerians, where its use led to a change in the pattern of social relations that depend on the physical presence to the pattern of relations The study was conducted on a sample of 57 university youth who use smartphones at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences Taheri Mohammed Bashar University and we used the descriptive analytical method and we have reached the following conclusions: The majority of the researchers were compensated by smartphones for sitting with friends, which confirmed that the researchers have more to do with the means than people do do, and they interact with all the content in it, which isolated them from the family and social environment.

A significant proportion of respondents believe that social relationships formed through a smartphone are medium and unreal because they are superficial and idealistic.
