This study aimed to investigate the issue of peace education in Islamic education curricula for a secondary school in Algeria, through a study based on analyzing the content of Islamic education textbooks in secondary school through a content analysis, with a network designed based on categories and units of analysis related to the principles goals of peace education, the meanings and ideas related to the culture of peace and compassion that came in the Islamic education programs in the secondary school for all levels, as the results showed that the Islamic education curricula for the secondary school were concerned with the values associated with living within the framework of peace and tolerance, compassion and acceptance others within the framework of developing culture.

Nevertheless, the building of curricula related to peace education should be reconsidered, in a way that responds to modern developments, especially those imposed by the innovations of modern communication and information technology.
