Abstract EN

This research aims to elucidate the phenomenon of opposites according to Ibn al-Atheer al-Jazari (d.606) We included these terms according to their arrival in the book (The End), and arranged them according to the alphabetical order of their root, and their number reached (22) items, and we reviewed the method of Ibn al-Atheer in dealing with them by description and analysis.

In this study, we concluded that the concept of opposites according to Ibn al-Atheer al-Jazari was distinguished by its features and its limits were clear, and we extracted the features of his approach to drawing this linguistic phenomenon, and we found that it has several features, including : It is based on mentioning the linguistic meaning of a number of opposites, as well as resorting to contextual interpretation, and citing Strange hadith and the effect in proving this phenomenon, and sometimes more than one trace is mentioned to demonstrate its contradiction, and in some citizens resort to mentioning the conjugation of some words of opposites and the statement of their own and their combination, and the declaration of mentioning the two antagonists, and the judgment against the word.
