This research aims to identify the level of students’ acquisition of the College of Arts and Sciences in a necessity for life skills (communication - problem solving and decision making - effective learning - taking responsibility, and information technology culture), and its relationship to academic achievement for them, and to identify the nature of the differences between students by type, and specialization, and academic achievement.

The life skills scale was prepared and applied to a random sample of (350) students, at the rate of (180) students compared to (170) students, of whom (275) were in the literary specialization, (75) in the scientific specialization, and the results showed that the majority of the sample individuals increased by (61.1%) acquired life skills with a high degree, while the rest of the sample members acquired it with a moderate degree, and communication skills ranked first with relative importance (89%) followed by problem- solving and decision-making skills (81%), effective learning skills (80%), bearing skills personal responsibility (79%), while skills of culture and information technology ranked last with relative importance (74%) and with a degree of acquired Intermediate.

The relationship was not an indication between these skills and academic achievement, and the differences were statistically significant in problem-solving and decision-making skills for the benefit of males, and in the skills of information technology culture for males with scientific specialization, and for females with an excellent academic average in literary specialization
