Abstract EN

Imam Ali (peace be upon him) is considered as one of the distinguished rhetoricians as his thoughts reflected in "Nahj al Balagha" in forms of artistic models attracting the reader's attention.

The present research examines one speech that carries many behaviorist and educational ideas which are directed towards the concept of unity from an aesthetic point of view with reference also to the indicative aspect.

It was found that the speech language is diverse in themes and structure.

It comprises repetition and antithesis, besides the various sentence patterns.

It focused on sonorous sounds to make it more conceivable.

There was also a depiction of literary images where simile and metaphor were the major figures since these help understand the content.

Also, since Imam Ali was linguistically competent in approaching Quran as a text, he exposed the role of cadence in communicating the aesthetic, psychological and connotative effects using parallelism, archaism, and alliteration.

Thus, out of these elements, the Imam was able to construct a texture lexically interwoven and clear through the use of antonyms and synonyms as well as the compact syntactic format
