Abstract EN

What we particularly appreciate is that the poet’s many images of sound are in our view a rhetorical plan.

The speaking ‘I’ manipulates linguistic data in such a way that the sounds are heard in rhymes and in perfect vocal symmetry.

He insists on using poetic devices that generate rhythm and vocal delight.

So, Ibn Zaydun’s poetry seems to have been overwhelmed by oral tendencies.

This is mostly manifested in the frequency of repetition and parallelism.

Although Jakobson asserts that these devices are distinctive features of poetic discourse as a whole, we agree with Zumthor who insists that they are integral textual elements that are linked to the vocal process
